Mission
Colorado Whitecaps Baseball provides skilled instruction and competitive tournament play to youth baseball players in Colorado, at a cost that keeps the game reachable for the families who want it.
Travel baseball has grown expensive. Fees, gear, and tournament travel add up quickly, and capable players get priced out of the game every year. The Whitecaps were organized as a nonprofit to push against that. The organization runs lean, keeps dues as low as a season allows, and uses sponsorship dollars to lower what families carry rather than to expand what the program spends.
Vision
A travel program where the quality of the coaching is the reason a family joins, and cost is never the reason a player has to leave.
The organization is working toward a funded assistance model, so that a spot on the roster can be offered to a player on the merits of their play and their fit with the group, without the family's finances deciding the outcome. Sponsorships and donations are what make that possible.
What We Value
Development over short-term results
These are eleven-year-old players. Lineups are built on matchups and current performance, and players are moved through positions rather than locked into one. Winning matters, and the team plays to win, though a season is judged on whether the players got better.
Honest, specific feedback
Player evaluations are conducted multiple times a season and shared with families directly. Feedback is specific and constructive, and it is tied to something the player can go work on.
Straight communication with families
Families hear about schedules, travel, and costs early enough to plan around them. Questions get an answer.
Respect for the game and the people in it
Players are expected to treat umpires, opponents, and their own teammates well. That expectation applies to the coaching staff and to the parents in the stands.
